We love this rustic little hide-away that we rent in Maine just a couple miles from Acadia National Park. The peace, calm and beauty is restorative to the soul.
Because of the string of islands 4-5 miles out, the sea is often as calm as a lake making kayaking right from the rocky shore an easy pleasure.
I love to sit and just look out to sea watching for eagles, osprey, black guillemots, seals and porpoises.

Beautiful lake scenery – as in Finland.

Agree! We are supposed to have sun and 70 degrees tomorrow so are planning to paddle for what will probably be the last time before spring.

I miss it, too. Every year, when I turn on the heat, it’s a moment of silence.
