This is the side yard. There is a border garden on the left along the neighbors fence and a perennial bed that loops around to herbs on the right (not in view). In the center is an arbor that goes to the back yard that I grow pole beans on. One of the neighbors calls this view “the secret garden”.

this is next to the driveway. I especially love the leaf textures & shapes in this border – out of view on the far end is a trellis with clematis.  The pulsatilla just finished blooming.  The lemon yellow day lily will be next.

the veggie patch is just getting going though the sorrel and garlic is quite tall. I’ve been eating the kale and can’t wait for beet greens!  There is another flower bed right behind here that is outside the kitchen window.

a small section of the shade garden that lives under an apple tree and some lilacs. I love the shapes and textures of the leaves here as they grow – there is lungwort, snow on the mountain, trillium, jack-in-the-pulpit, hosta, solomon’s seal & other plants here. There was a path until the plants ran it over!
