Rituals are reassuring. The snow is mostly melted so we were able to park our car on the side of the road to go and visit the river. My river. My go to place to feel happy and to feel connected to the earth. The river has been running high the past couple weeks, full of snow melt and spring rains. It races along tumbling over granite stones, singing in a strong, confident voice, washing winter out to sea. All is right.

Ooohhhh, we did the same thing yesterday. Listened to the Merced River sing at Hite’s Cove just outside of Yosemite. Nature heals.
