After the long snowy winter we have had I was excited this morning to smell dirt for the first time in months. Yes – dirt! I stopped and took a moment to breathe deeply and smell the scent of earth. During our morning walks we are now hearing an abundance of bird chatter – robins chirping, the cardinals have switched to their spring song, the raucous call of blue jays and woodpeckers hammering away looking for bugs. And delight of delights, I think I am finally done with wearing snow pants in the morning since the last few days have been about 30 degrees rather than 10. Yay for spring! We’ve made it through another winter.
I think dirt smells wonderful. It’s life. The full circle.

Delightful post. Love the title too! Oh to get out there as soon as the snow recedes enough…
Cheers, Gina

Thank you, Gina! Did my first gardening today – pulling out dead stuff from the flower beds where the snow melted this week. So excited!

Mother Nature was especially grumpy and hostile this season. I am hopeful she is leaving for awhile.
