I’m no expert but I find if you step back from the subject a bit and then zoom in rather than holding the camera a couple inches away then more of the flowers are in focus.
I appreciate your feedback so much, most photographers don’t like sharing info. I’ve decided I’m just incompetent to take a great photo. I have been standing back and zooming in using a 28-300mm macro and I still can’t focus what I want. I appreciate your comment because I have wondered if I needed a fixed lens and just get closer. If I’m doing it right, then it must be a setting that I’m not choosing wisely.
